Dear Amnesty International Members or Participants:
As the current letter writing coordinator, I want to address anyone
who is interested in this and in gaining a nomination to this
effect. Some of the positions will serve as the teaching grounds for
the future of the letter writing campaign. Letter writing campaigns
are an important part of Amnesty International at its chapter level.
Next year I will be a third year, meaning that it is the last year
that I can create the letters, do the research, conduct the teach-ins
and then send the completed letters to the appropriate heads of
state. It is a bit of a detailed process. A lot is accomplished by
sending these letters and it is imperative that we keep accomplishing
this mission.
I am concerned about the future of letter writing at Amnesty
International, and hope that people show an interest in continuing
this effort. If you are interested in current events, international
law, and the plights of others than I urge you to come to the meeting
or contact us. I feel that this would be of particular benefit to
those who want to practice in immigration law, diplomacy, want to
work for an international NGO, plan on taking the Foreign Service
Exam, etc...
To reiterate, any interest in this learning doesn't have to present
an overwhelming burden upon you next year. I would like to slowly
teach one, two or three others about how to go about the "process" so
that when I am gone we may continue to be a strong chapter for
Amnesty International.
Sincerely,
Terra Girolimon-VP
